A cross-country (XC) bike differs from other mountain bikes primarily in terms of its design and intended use. It is generally lighter and less robust than, for example, an enduro or downhill bike, as it is designed for fast, endurance-based riding on trails, forest tracks and race courses. Whilst enduro or downhill bikes feature more suspension travel and a sturdier build for more challenging descents, the focus with cross-country bikes is on efficiency and speed over longer distances. The XC bike is therefore ideal for riders who prioritise endurance and speed off-road.
