All Eagle AXS™ rear derailleurs are more than just rear derailleurs with battery and motor – they are the pulsating heart of the entire drivetrain, the core of the AXS™ system.
Once set up, they are even quieter and more precise than their mechanical counterpart when changing gears, which improves overall durability.
Just like its "big" siblings from the XX1 or X01 Eagle AXS™ groupset, the GX Eagle AXS™ rear derailleur is so smart, it even protects itself from external influences with a powerful overload clutch. In case of an impact, the motor switches off within seconds to allow the rear derailleur to move freely and thus avoid a breakage. Afterwards, it will immediately return to its original position to get ready for your next shift command. This protects not only the motor but also the gear hanger and rear derailleur from damages in the best way possible.

The clear and precise shifting feel of the GX Eagle™ AXS™ rear mech now also has an updated cage geometry for improved chain management and compatibility with “expanded” Eagle™ 10-52 teeth cassettes.
The massive 520% gear range of this cassette is constantly kept in check by the 14-teeth X-Sync™ shift pulley, while the Type 3 Roller Bearing Clutch™ ensures a smooth torque curve and therefore quiet, steady running and excellent riding experience.
Of course, the SRAM GX Eagle™ AXS™ rear derailleur is also compatible with the popular Eagle™12-speed sprocket sets with 10-50 teeth.
