The enduro bikes are coming!
WITH AN ENDURO BIKE OVER THE HILLS ON A SINGLETRACK
Enduro bikes are downhill specialists as well as true all-rounders. They particularly show their strengths on downhill trails and tours. They want to go to the top from where you have a perfect view of the snow-covered peaks of the surrounding mountains, of the little village in the valley, the trail in front of your feet. You put your helmet and goggles on, push the pedals and let it rip. “Finally!” your suspension system shouts. You lean into the beam, fly over the rock section, and take the drop with a smile on your face. High-tech forks and rear shocks offer high comfort and a lot of reserves when it is getting rougher thanks to their sensitivity.
Our enduro UNCLE JIMBO rolls on 27,5-inch wheels – this wheel size offers stability and agility on challenging tracks. The bike’s suspension offers a travel of 165 mm – not so long ago, this travel category was used in downhill races! This shows where the journey will take us: to the valley! This is exactly what those bikes have been designed for, this is where they show great performances. However, good uphill skills are important, too, as a good enduro bike also has to easily roll uphill. Only then it offers the complete package! That is why the downhill-oriented bikes are so lightweight that you even prefer to pedal up the hill yourself instead of taking the lift.
Enduros are simply fun, as they offer great features and good performance – on rooty singletracks, tours and in enduro races. The latter have become very popular recently, which is no wonder considering that they redefine the idea of mountain biking in a very special way: It’s about experiencing the surroundings with changing conditions, competing with friends on flowing downhill tracks, riding together and enjoying sports and nature. That is what remains in the memory after a great day off the road!
UNCLE JIMBO 1 – our perfect entry into the action-packed enduro segment. Thanks to a sophisticated four bar linkage design and carefully selected components, this bike offers you best performance right from the start! The rear stay with a travel of 165 mm is sensitive and potent. It is equipped with an excellent Rock Shox Monarch RT3 shock that benefits from a lot of clever features like an externally adjustable rebound and a 3-position compression (Open/Pedal/Lock). The latter allows for an individual adjustment to the terrain and to personal preferences. The fork, too, bears the high-quality Rock Shox label: it is a Yari RC Solo Air. This newly developed enduro fork not only offers a travel of 160 mm, but also great suspension performance including Motion Control damping, very good stiffness values and a weight of around 2000 grams. Rock 'n' Roll, baby!
The UNCLE JIMBO 2 is our all-rounder among the enduro bikes. 160 mm of travel at the front and 165 mm at the rear offer outstanding up- and downhill performance. All suspension elements come from the company Rock Shox. At the front, the excellent Rock Shox Pike RCT3 Solo-Air suspension fork makes demanding downhills less frightening. It’s a kind of reference in the enduro class. It comes with external rebound adjustment, low-speed as well as 3-position compression. At the rear, a Rock Shox Monarch Plus RC3 shock carries out its duties with an externally adjustable rebound. Also on board: 3-position compression. The height of the saddle is also adjustable and can be controlled from the handlebar thanks to a Rock Shox Reverb Stealth Vario seatpost with internally routed cables. Regarding the drivetrain, you can fully rely on Shimano’s top group XT. Rear derailleur, front derailleur, shifter and cassette all have the logo on them – for long-lasting riding pleasure at the highest level!
It climbs like a goat-antelope and explodes on the way to the valley – our UNCLE JIMBO 3 is the uncle enduro cyclists trust! Suspension fork and rear shock both come from Fox and belong to the best products available on the market. The Fox 36 Float RC2 FIT with kashima coating and a 15 mm thru axle offers 160 mm of travel and thus a lot of reserves to easily cope with roughest terrain. A Float X rear shock controls the rear stay with a travel of 165 mm. It also comes with the exclusive kashima coating - a high-quality coating that reduces friction. The UNCLE JIMBO 3 rolls on the exclusive E13 TRS+ wheels that offers a great combination of a low weight, high stability and a cool design. Stable SRAM Guide RSC disc brakes (with 200 mm/180 mm discs) are responsible for braking, whereas SRAM's exclusive X01 group is used for shifting.
