The Schwalbe EDDY CURRENT REAR GRAVITY PRO is specially designed for use on the rear wheel of e-mountain bikes. Its massive tread pattern with stable lugs in the centre and shoulder area is designed for high drive forces and demanding trail conditions and should also offer reliable propulsion and traction when braking on steep terrain.
Schwalbe's SOFT Compound is used, which bridges many areas of application and is used in enduro and downhill use as well as in demanding all-mountain and trail riding. The rubber compound is complemented by Schwalbe's GRAVITY PRO radial carcass with multiple carcass plies and additional reinforcements for puncture protection and sidewall stability.
The carcass threads of the radial carcass run at a flatter angle than on conventional cross-ply tyres. This allows the tyre to deform more flexibly on uneven surfaces and adapt better to the ground. The contact area increases by up to 30 % at the same air pressure, which contributes to more grip and traction.
The motocross-inspired lug pattern with massive blocks in the centre and stable shoulder lugs is tailored to the requirements of modern E-MTBs.
Tip:
Depending on the terrain, Schwalbe recommends the MAGIC MARY or the ALBERT in the GRAVITY PRO version as a suitable front tyre for the EDDY CURRENT REAR. The MAGIC MARY is designed as a grippy downhill and enduro tyre for a wide range of conditions, while the ALBERT with its closed tread pattern is particularly suitable for use on hard surfaces and with a focus on durability and low rolling resistance.
