Cane Creek eeSilk Stem with Damping -6° Stem Suspension

Thanks to the discreetly integrated elastomer damping, the compact eeSilk stem from Cane Creek absorbs the many small shocks and vibrations that are transmitted to the handlebar on bikes without fork suspension. Especially on sporty gravel and all-road bikes, as well as on randonneur bikes, having front suspension provides noticeably more comfort on bumpy roads. This effectively counteracts signs of fatigue.

The eeSilk stem is no bigger or heavier than comparable standard stems. Despite its technical finesse, the damping stem blends discreetly into the cockpit and impresses with its light weight. Mounted on the steerer tube, the axle-mounted Ahead stem is held in position by a shock-absorbing elastomer insert. Due to the different firmness and progression of the damping element, the sitting position on the handlebar changes only minimally when the eesilk stem compresses. On winding roads and climbs, you continue to receive immediate handlebar feedback without sacrificing power transmission.

Three easily exchangeable elastomer inserts in different degrees of hardness let you customise the stem for your individual requirements, from sporty cross or gravel, as well as touring or trekking. Ideally in perfect harmony with Cane Creek's eesilk seatpost for perfect balance with every pedal stroke, regardless of the surface.

Note:
The degrees of hardness of the elastomers for the eeSilk stem were developed independently of the rider's weight after test rides on different surfaces. Depending on the stem length, different elastomers come pre-assembled: For individual adjustment, the mounted damper can be easily changed by loosening a screw.

Steerer tube spacers with more than 5 mm height above the eeSilk stem and more than 40 mm spacers below the stem are not recommended by Cane Creek.
